Man Shot in Attempted Hijacking on Bowling
(20 June) A 37-year old man was shot and killed on Bowling Avenue en route back from the bank. He was gunned down in his Bentley in what is believed to be an attempted hijacking.

Two convicted murderers sentenced to 108 years
(23 June) Two men have been sentenced to 108 years’ imprisonment collectively for the murder that took place in Riverclub in February 2016 during an attempted hijacking. Their sentence includes counts of robbery, and possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition in Riverclub, Sandton.
Sandton gets its own LEGO store in July
Africa’s first LEG- certified store will be opening in South Africa on 28 July – even better, it will be located right on our doorstep in Sandton City! The Great Yellow Brick Co will comprise of a 179 square metre shop, with plans underway to include online shopping!

You will be stunned at the variety of goods that sweep through the store – a good reminder to pop in whenever you drive past, as items are donated on a regular basis. Not only will your purchases raise funds for the Sandton SPCA, but donated items allow others to buy goods that might have previously been outside their budget. Everybody wins!
