One of our own needs your help!
IN BRIEF: Parkmore Security Guard loses house to fire, leaving himself, his wife and his 2-year old daughter homeless.
By now, you will have heard about the devastating fire last week Wednesday in Alexandra. More than 500 shacks were destroyed in the blaze, leaving thousands displaced.
According to reports, local residents believe that the fire was deliberately started, following a fight between two people. The one man then returned with a group of friends and set fire to the other party’s shack as an act of revenge.
A group of residents later tracked down the man and reportedly injured him so badly that he later died in hospital.
Gift of the Givers has been on site since the fire, providing warm food, groceries, toiletries and blankets. Residents urgently need building materials in order to rebuild their houses.
