Kingsmead College will host its eighth annual Book Fair on Saturday 25 May 2019.

The Kingsmead Book Fair, sponsored by Standard Bank – Wealth and Investment702Porcupine Ridge and Timberland, has become a significant event on South Africa’s literary calendar.

Enjoy good food and drink, interesting discussion, heated debate and in-depth dialogue with a host of dynamic authors, facilitators and 702 presenters. Immerse yourself in the day, which has the theme:
Read and rise.

Entrance tickets: R70 | Session tickets: R60 each
Children’s Programme is included in the entrance fee

Interesting events to look out for:

Authors Heather Morris (‘The Tattooist of Auschwitz’), Simone Haysom (‘The Last Words of Rowan du Preez’), and Sue Grant-Marshall (‘Your People Will Be My People: The Ruth Khama Story’) discuss what it takes to breathe life into times and characters gone by in “The Facts and Fictions of History”. From text to TV, is the book always better? Sue Nyathi, author of The Polygamist & the Gold Diggers, CM Elliott, author of Sibanda and the Night Adder, and Gareth Crocker, writer and director of the Netflix series Shadow, share notes on the adaptation process with filmmaker Dylan Valley.
