Breaking news: vehicle tracking app, Pro-Active South Africa, has published a series of maps showing the worst hijacking spots and crime hotspots in Joburg. See below for the areas you need to avoid where possible, and where you should remain vigilant.

Do remember that those not paying attention are the most likely to be targeted – stay off your phones, keep an eye on all mirrors, and try to keep enough space between you and the car in front of you in case you need a quick getaway.
